Title: The impact of the mere presence of social media share icons on product interest and valuation
Author: David T. Neal
Where it comes from (This one must come from a scholarly journal): ScienceDirect
URL: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0148296319301869
2 paragraphs summarizing the article:
The article displays the highly impactful effect of social media share icons in both “public consciousness and self-awareness” which leads to consumers product perception. Not only does it increase the interest that a consumer might have in their product but also harms the response to other products from competitors. It backs up this data with three experiments and supporting research in psychology and market research.
The hypothesis focuses on how public feeling is greatly affected by the mere presence of icons. It not only looks at how consumers interact on social media but also how it impacts the “creation and consumption of product reviews or engagement with branded social media campaigns.” A huge amount of money is spent on marketing research and a large part is focused on icon design to manipulate “an awareness of the self as a social entity.” Icons can make consumers feel empowered or make them more intuned to “how others perceive them, leading them to try and create a more powerful self-image.” This can change the experience when people shop online and change their interests in products and services offered.

Research shows that practicing flow arts can increase plasticity in the brain, creating new neuron networks and reforming self-destructive habits. Flow arts, like any art form, can give rise to something psychologists call “flow state.” This meditative state of being the mind enters can heal, transform, and solidify positive neuron networks in the brain. It can also strengthen communities, physical strength and endurance in the body, and focus and concentration in the mind.
