PROJECT BACKGROUND

What is the project? What are we creating and why? What are we trying to

achieve with this project? What is the core message that should be

communicated?

The project is an infographic on the benefits, importance, and misconception of flow arts (and art in general) and fire magic along with misconceptions and consequences of the lack of focus on art in our society/culture. We are creating this infographic to bring awareness and motivation for people to get more involved in different forms of art and self expression. The goal is to achieve a more positive outlook on flow arts and magic and make more people involved. The core message is that flow, arts, and fire magic should not be overlooked and has many benefits for both the individual, community, and beyond with biological/physical, psychological/mental, and spiritual/meaning/sense of purpose benefits.

TARGET AUDIENCE & JUSTIFICATION:

Who is your target audience? [You can’t say everyone!] What do we know

about them that can help us reach them? What is your plan to appeal to

this audience?

The audience is people who are not actively involved, those who are mostly focused on specialized academics, or have mostly negative emotions towards art, flow, and magic. We know these people often thing of art and flow as unimportant and unrelated to their life goals. The idea is to appeal to this audience by drawing in their attention with bright yellows, oranges, and yellow/greens with a little bit of red to invoke invigorating, happy, stimulating, and exciting emotions that connect to happiness, vitality, and creative energy to connect them to positive and beneficial emotions connected to art, flow, and how it can impact their health and other aspects of life and studies.

Final Draft: I worked to create more contrast in both the text and icons to make the visualizations and paragraphs more visual. I did this in a number of ways. For starters I decided to use more contrast in the colors, and then I increased the stroke in certain lines allowing them to really stand out. Finally, for the images, I made some of the ones I thought were more important bigger and rearranged the text a bit. I also took out one of the circles, made one of the more complex images bigger, and lowered the opacity to give it both more visibility and subtlety by becoming more of the background but also still relevant to the text. Afterwards I decreased the boldness of the text body a bit, while making it bigger, and moving it all down, except for the first main paragraph, which I slightly changed color and resized it a bit.
