Creative Brief: Photos were taken on and off campus to ignite inspiration and thought for upcoming prospects.
After sketching idea and collecting, the first step was basic editing. I could have done this faster by syncing edits way sooner, but I individually edited all fire shots first. I tried to fix the extra red tint from the fire in original photo by altering the tint, hue, colors, and saturation. I then increased the haze to reduce the light pollution from fire. On 3 of the photos, I added an artistic style to drastically alter image (added green tint to fire 4, starry effect to the artistic fire, and a strong tint to fire shot 1. I then added a vignette to most beach shots to blend in subject and/or beach subtly into background. Brushes were then added to blend in sky and reduce light pollution from fire without distorting rest of image in Fire shot 1, 2, and styled fire shot. I then synced campus shots with a blue sky in it for hue, contrast, haze, and exposure. Finally I removed in photoshop a lamppost in clock tower 1, some personal items from the booth lady in cub booth, the artist signature in cub art 1, and finally a tree in campus sky.
I could not figure out a way to upload the high res print images with LRC edits, as I believe wordpress won’t let me upload due to the file size being too large. The instructions become quite confusing (and in my opinion contradictory), we are asked to save 2 PDFS as well as PSD and JPEG. It says the low resolution is for uploading on the web yet on canvas it first says to submit one or other but “the PDF on wordpress.” The referring to 1 of the 2 PDFs? Does that just mean it’s the pdf and JPEG we saved for web to be uploaded? Which doesn’t quite make sense cause the quality is too bad to really see anything, and when it comes to the other PDF we were suppose to save, it’s not even close to an acceptable size to be loaded on wordpress… I found a workaround by exporting LRC into TIFFs, transferring to LR, then uploading on my Adobe Portfolio, but the instructions don’t seem clear enough to see if this is an accepted way of submission. Anyways you can find the link here. Inan Harsh – NuWSUPromoEdit (myportfolio.com) .
